Principal Photography on DiNG is Wrapped!

Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of DiNG for wrapping principal photography!

Thank you first and foremost to our writer and director Matt Maddox for your meticulous vision. Thank you to our DP Andrew Cunningham for your devotion and capacity to execute the seemingly impossible and bring together the most wonderful local camera, lighting, and sound crew, our Costume Designer Cristina Holmes, our 1st AD Jacob Simmons, our 2nd AD Jackie Logsted, and our EP Sarah Carter for managing day-to-day operations and keeping the creative bar high.

Thank you to our cast, helmed by Rebecca Louise, Kirby Ellwood, Valentine Mosier Lestrange, Autumn Holmes Caylor, and Alice Barth. And thank you to every member of the crew who helped us bring this film to life — we couldn’t have done it without every single one of you!

Wait until you see the footage. The shots are out of this world! Great work everyone!

Out of the Blue at Petit Ermitage

CMP is co-hosting Monday Night Music & Film Salons at Petit Ermitage with Darby Gaelle Hannon, and BLKBRD Films. Our latest event features the 40th anniversary 4k restoration of Dennis Hopper’s 1980 film, Out of the Blue.

Doors open at 7:00pm for drinks, dinner, and live music inspired by the film, featuring Neil Young covers performed by Frankie Palmer.

At sundown we'll move to the fire deck for a screening of Dennis Hopper's cult classic OUT OF THE BLUE (1980) to celebrate the theatrical re-release as a “lost gem” and the first-rate restoration by Roundabout Entertainment (Apocalypse Now, Raging Bull).

This restoration premiered at Venice and was originally an official selection at Cannes. It was also selected for SXSW, AFI fest, and also at TIFF in March this year.

Our screening includes a special appearance by restoration producers John Alan Simon & Elizabeth Karr, who will be in attendance to discuss the film before and after.

Don't miss out on this very special evening and unique opportunity to network with fellow arthouse film lovers.

SYNOPSIS: While driving intoxicated, Don Barnes (Dennis Hopper) crashed his truck into a school bus. This accident cost the lives of many town kids and resulted in his five-year sentence to prison for manslaughter. When he finally gets out of jail, Don tries to re-connect with his wife Kathy (Sharon Farrell), now working as a waitress, but promiscuous and drug-addicted. Since his incarceration, their daughter CeBe (Linda Manz) has grown into a traumatized teen misfit, fascinated both by Elvis and the punk rock movement. Each of these lost souls dream in their own way of forming a united family again, struggling against the dark past that still tears them apart.

Azazel Jacobs writes: "I was the age Linda Manz is in Out of the Blue when I first saw it, and had never seen such a genuine reflection of being a kid in an adult world. I also felt the same about punk as her character does, and the joy she expresses in one particular scene is the one many of us have had, finding a culture just for us. Dennis Hopper’s miraculous and urgent filmmaking, just as punk as ‘Cebe’ (Linda Manz’s character), continues to inspire."

If you have a short film or feature you would like to submit for consideration please contact Sarah Carter, Darby Hannon or James Oliver directly, or contact us below with a link to your film, a short bio, and a description of the project. We are currently curating a celebration of women in film, so be sure to submit and look out for more information on that event.

We are also curating a night of shorts with Gio Baladessa, the founder of Not Film Festival, for another magical evening.
